Summary
Mike is overcome with an intense dejà vu when Will goes missing again after they get back from the skating rink. He, El, and Jonathan fly back to Hawkins to get help from the whole crew to get him back once and for all. Along the way Mike discovers some letters for him that Will never sent, the contents of which send Mike into a journey of self-discovery parallel to his journey to get Will back.
But Dr. Brenner and Dr. Owens have their own plan to find Will and defeat this evil, and El has always been the key.

So he decides to take a ride in his Baby and find that missing piece that keeps him from being happy. Almost everywhere he goes, there is one constant – Castiel. He sees his angel, over and over, finding him in different worlds with different versions of Dean and then watching over him from afar.
Back on Earth, Dean didn’t have the words for the feelings inside him, but his afterlife might just provide him with the strength and wisdom to hold on to true happiness when he finds it.

“You’ll… see,” He answered belatedly, sounding a little bit far away. A beat passed before he finally pulled out a black VHS box featuring a skull and bold, red lettering on the front. He held it up triumphantly. “I know you’ve wanted to watch it since it came out.”

Externally, there’s a bubbling burn wound carved across his shoulder— but, to be honest, a simple injury is the least of his worries.
