She pushes up onto her knees, rounds the table like a predator, and for the first time in Suguru’s chequered history, she is worried she’ll be devoured. “Afraid of you?” Satoru drawls, her figure long and languid. She eats into Suguru’s space, forcing her backwards until she can taste Satoru’s regal scent – cloves, lavender, neroli. “Never.”
“You shouldn’t—get too close—”
“Why?” she asks. “Worried you’ll bite me?”
“Yes. Satoru—”
