Summary
David had always heard that this city made men into monsters. He didn't think they meant it literally.
Gloria Martinez had stolen a top-secret sample from the corpse of an AWOL scientist. She had been hunted down and assassinated for it. David should have died with her. He didn't. But that did not mean he came out unscathed. Whatever his mother had stolen had changed him; made him something else.
He wasn't sure why these people were willing to slaughter his mother over one vial, but he wanted answers. And he had a feeling that whatever had changed him—this "Blacklight"—would give them to him.

Summary
David managed to get accepted into Maine's crew, getting accustomed to the life of an Edgerunner. But, when he and Maine managed to finish another gig, they found themselves saving a life of another unlucky Edgerunner.
A reimagining of the Cyberpunk:Edgerunners and Cyberpunk 2077 plots with a character that will tie them together, as well as an expansion of the already known and beloved characters (I’ll add more as they get introduced).

“How does it feel?” It looks bad and the more time passes, the more it gets worse, the Mexican man cannot imagine how it feels as he winces just looking at it.
“It doesn’t even hurt.” V’s lying. He doesn’t want to look weak in front of his brother. He’s acting like he’s fine, that it isn’t a big deal. He’ll walk it off and that’ll be it.
Jackie sees as much from V that he’s acting like his soon to be black eye isn’t a problem, “Oh, tío. (Oh, man). I can’t even imagine how your old man is going to react to it.” That is something V isn’t looking forward to, and he wishes Jackie didn’t remind him of it.
The one thing he forgot about, his dad… he won’t be pleased to see him battered up.
