Vi returns home after three years from the overseas front in Ionia, finding Zaun in a worse situation than when she was forced to leave for war.Caitlyn momentarily resides in her family's summer residence and renowned vineyard, trying to understand herself in the peace of the place where she grew up and that she loves.
Circumstances lead Vi to work in the Kiramman vineyard, where she arouses Caitlyn's vivid curiosity.
Two troubled women in search of peace and a place in the world, which they may find in each other.

Confused, Caitlyn looked up at her, and instead of the expected anger, she saw only gentleness and compassion in Vi's beautiful face. "You're the bravest person I know, Caitlyn," a watery smile played around Vi's lips, "and the dumbest." She laughed softly but honestly, and gently tugged at the straps of her eyepatch to loosen it from her face.
Or: Caitlyn has a nightmare that intensifies her guilt. Vi is there and convinces her otherwise.
