That was the only warning.
He said it softly, like a statement, almost casually– so casually that Sirius turned expecting him to ask something about what they were having for dinner, or telling him he wanted honey in his tea, or complain about how off brand sports-drink didn’t taste as good as Gatorade.
Instead, Remus’ knees were already buckling. His arm was sliding off of the granite corner of the countertop, and his shoulder was colliding with the barstool to his right, and his body was thudding against the hardwood, and the only warning Sirius got was his name. That was it.
He was moving before he even realized what was happening.

Summary
Castiel has never liked Christmas, not even when he was little. This time of year is when he’s most reminded of how not very loving his family is. With his lack of holiday cheer, he really should have avoided the seasonal job at Macy’s, but hey, he needed the cash, and Gabriel convinced him. He expected the grating Christmas carols and red ornaments everywhere. He did not expect Dean Winchester, whose opinion on Christmas could not be any more different than Castiel’s. It should be impossible for them to get along.
Somehow it isn’t.
An advent Dean/Cas fic full of love, cheer, and good old fashioned Christmas spirit.

Dean Winchester knows two things about hockey, two things his dad made sure he knew. One, hockey is a guy’s sport, and two, hockey is family. Hockey meant Sam and Bobby and Benny and Victor and Gabriel and hell, his entire team. So when Victor gets traded, Russian-star-turned-new-teammate Castiel Krushnic becomes a threat. As much as Dean hates him for that, the longer he sticks around, the more he begins to threaten that first rule too. Dean’s been taught his whole life that those who play hockey should not be captivated by deep accented voices and the way a guy handles his stick, so how the hell is he supposed to justify what he’s starting to think about Cas? All Dean wanted at the beginning of the season was to win, and now all he wants to do is figure out how he feels about Cas and how to deal with it without ruining his career and tearing his family apart.
