Summary
Alex lowers himself to first one knee then the other, face turned up towards his light.
He brings his hands to his chest, nearly in prayer and whispers, "Could you ever forgive me?"
Locke turns and freezes, eyes wide. His lips part as he turns fully towards Alex.
"Your highness?" He pauses, taking in the kneeling form before him. He smiles. It's small and a little mournful, but soft. "I think so. We'll need to talk, but I think so."
Locke reaches his hand down to help Alex to his feet. Gingerly Alex takes it. The first spark of contact makes him sway a bit as he stands. Locke doesn't release his hand, his thumb stroking softly over Alex' knuckles.
"Alex?"
His eyes search Alex' face. Belatedly Alex realizes that hot tears have begun running down his face.
Alex quietly chokes past a sob. "I thought you were dead!"

Mu Qing started to speak but then stopped abruptly. The words never seemed to be able to leave his mouth.
When Mu Qing changes his cultivation path, Feng Xin approaches him to confirm if it’s true. He suggests giving the idea of ‘them’ a chance. But Feng Xin has kept him waiting for centuries, resentment having built up over time due to the rejection. Mu Qing wants to push him away and tell him he doesn’t want that—that he isn't in love with Feng Xin anymore.
But it would be a lie.

“You like this.” Mu Qing says, barely above a whisper. Feng Xin stutters a bit and pathetically tries to pull away, but Mu Qing uses his legs to keep a strong hold on the other’s throat and squeezes so tight he can hear his breath click.
Mu Qing thinks about Jian Lan, the only other person he knows Feng Xin has had such relations with. How cutting her words could be, how forceful she was.
Mu Qing laughs, soft and airy. He really can’t believe this.
“You dog,” he says, “you like this.”
Feng Xin whimpers.
