Summary
Can we talk about Lucy Pevensie?
Let's talk about Lucy riding to war to defend Archenland, her hair braided back, her bow string pulled back to her cheek. Let's talk about her clear, clear eyes sighting down the arrow shaft.
Lucy worked in the healing tents after battles. She kept her magical vial tucked in a pouch that hung over her heart and learned to bind wounds and splint limbs.
Peter went green at healing tents the way he never did at war, but he did a walk-through anyway, after every skirmish, each pitched fight. He clasped hands and thanked them, took soldiers' letters for their sweethearts and made sure they got delivered.
Lucy tied her hair back, rolled up her sleeves, and went to work.
When the Pevensies tumbled back through the Wardrobe, after a decade and a half of rule, Lucy left her healing vial behind. Peter left his sword and Susan left her horn, but the space over Lucy's heart felt cold for the rest of her life.

Summary
"You’ve all grown so much," their mother says.
Edmund is too young to register, but older now than he was at his first war; Lucy, who had been so young when they had left, grew into herself in a world filled with magic. All of them, they have responsibility pressed into their shoulders, old ropes they can’t even grasp for. No one is asking them to take that mantle on their shoulders, and that’s the hardest part. You get used to the weight. You build your world around it, build your identity into the crooks and crannies of the load you carry.
Susan has forgotten about being a child. She is the blessed, the chosen, the promised. Susan has decades on her classmates, wars, loss and betrayal, victory and growing fields, the trust of her subjects. It was a visceral thing, to have all those lives under her protection and to know that her subjects slept safe, peacefully, on dark nights.
Here, on this drab concrete, her people are untouchable, indefensible; her self is vanished, her kingdom gone; she can feel the loss like a wound. She has lost her power, but that trust, that responsibility remains. It circles her ankles, trips her in the school hallways.

Summary
Kenny's mom assuming that Diego and Klaus were A) a couple and B) Number Five’s parents was both bemusing and amusing at the time. But that was because it was the only time it had ever happened. Now though? Now they just can't understand why these misunderstandings keep happening.

Summary
Diego whirled on her, glaring. “No! Our brother died! And what, that asshole just left him there? Didn’t even think to bring it up?!”
“Wow,” Klaus murmured, “He’s…really mad.”
...
(Klaus lets it slip that he died, met God, and came back to life. His siblings are understandably shocked).
