“Hey, kid, are you okay?” The man? Hero? Asked, kneeling down to Izuku’s level. Hesitantly, Izuku nodded, coughing out a few more drops of slime. “We’re going to get you to a hospital, ok kid? Just sit tight.”
Izuku nodded shakily, staring up at the hero, trying desperately to place him in the huge roster of heroes he had analysed, but he had never seen the man before. Not once.
“Are you a hero?” Izuku asked, because he had been so sure he knew all of Japan’s heroes. Hell, he knew every single hero on the rankings, so how did he not know this person?
“Yeah, the name’s Eraserhead,”

Izuku is your typical quirkless orphan. Dead mom, bullied at school, the works. He should've found a way to support himself by now, it's already been a few months since his mom died. One thing leads to another, and after a consuming a slightly lethal amount of pills, he's still alive somehow. He can't fucking die. He constantly reminisces about his childhood dream, becoming a hero. That dream was crushed the moment he received his diagnosis: Quirkless. He puts two and two together: He can't be a hero, but he doesn't give a fuck if he's injured, so he might as well be of some help.
