Summary
“I love you too.”
Ace rolled his eyes—even as he mumbled the words back.
Even after over two years of dating there was still a little flutter that went through his stomach every time he heard Marco say those words to him. It was like even after all this time he still couldn't quite believe that of all the people he could want Marco wanted him, the boring bartender trying to raise his little brother. Him who was the son of the city's most notorious and dangerous criminal and the adopted grandson of an asshole cop with a vendetta against Marco and his entire family.
Somedays he really did wonder if he had actually woken up in that hospital or if he was in a coma and this was all a dream. Somedays that seemed more realistic than the idea that anyone could actually love him.

Ace thought Marco was fine. He knew he was more anxious but it didn’t seem that bad. Or at least, Marco always said it wasn’t that bad. Until it wasn’t.
Or, the trauma of everything that happened to Ace finally catches up and both him and Marco realize neither of them are okay.

Summary
It was hours later now and the island had been saved and the bad guys defeated. The party was loud, chaotic, and packed to the brim with bodies. Everywhere Zoro turned fishmen and mermaids and royal guards were trying to thank him and his crew for what they had done and while it was somewhat nice to have their hard work acknowledged, Zoro also would like for them to stop. Because they hadn’t done what they had done to be thanked, they had done it because Luffy had decided that they were going to because Jinbe lived here and Jinbe was his friend.
Or, FishMan Island has been saved but there is still a certain problem that remains and Zoro is starting to have his doubts on how to handle it.

Summary
“What the fuck did you do?” Marco muttered.
“I didn't do anything,” Ace snapped back. “There's not even anything here to burn!”
“Well apparently there was. And now it won't stop burning.”
Ace wanted to fire back a retort- not that he really had one lined up yet- when the fire suddenly disappeared like it had been doused with water. He turned to Marco with a smug grin only to notice the odd look on the other's face, his suddenly wide eyes still staring at the spot the fire had been. There was very little that could ever truly surprise Marco and Ace was sure he'd never seen his eyes look that big. With trepidation, he turned back to the spot, his eyes falling down to the sand beneath the fire.
The heat of the fire had melted the sand into shards of glass, sunlight catching off the small pieces and throwing light outwards. That wasn't what caught their eye, though. Because nestled on top of the melted sand was a large egg still glowing from the intense heat, the shell a deep purple color with hints of gold trailing across it like veins.
Or, Marco and Ace accidentally make a fire baby and have no idea how or what to do now.

He was going to be the King of the Pirates.
Or, Luffy is an omega in a world that hates omegas but he's not going to let that get in the way of his dream of being the King of the Pirates.

Summary
Marco didn’t know how it had started. Oh sure he could tell you all the steps that had led to it, that led to where he was now. As if he could ever forget the day he had met Ace. As if he could ever forget those nearly black eyes that looked like they had flames dancing in them from the fire or that smirk that had tilted those plush lips up as they wrapped around the end of a cigarette like it was something obscene.
Maybe Marco did know how it had started. Maybe he was just a little ashamed to admit it.

Summary
Marco was trying. He really was. He knew it didn’t look like it but he was. It was just....hard. So very damn hard.
It felt like every time Marco turned around Ace was getting hurt. Sometimes it was because he was reckless and headstrong but sometimes it was because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He attracted trouble like light attracted moths and even when he was trying things still seemed to blow up in his face. Still seemed to go wrong.
And then after....after Impel Down....
Or, Marco is more affected by Ace’s near death than he’s been letting on

The scent hung thickly around him, surrounding and wrapping around him like an intangible blanket and even though he still wasn't fully awake yet, he knew exactly what it meant. Because Marco had warned him yesterday that it was coming and with how strong and musky his scent had become, Ace knew it was here. Marco's rut was starting.
Or, Marco goes into rut for the first time since him and Ace got together and Ace is determined to spend all of it with him no matter how much rough sex they have.

Summary
“I don't know what I want to do.” Chopper frowned a little bit. “I think I just don't want to be alone.”
“You can come with us,” Zoro told him. “I have no idea what we're doing, but....” he trailed off with a shrug and a look at Luffy.
“We're going to find Jinbe!” Luffy told him excitedly. “He helped Rayleigh train me for a little at the beginning because he had something to do or whatever. He's also Ace's friend so I'm hoping that maybe he has news to tell me.”
An uncomfortable silence fell across the table and even though he was eating, Luffy could feel every pair of eyes landing on him. He looked up and raised his brows in a silent question as he took another bite. Everyone was looking at him almost....sadly. Like they were sad for him.
Or, the crew has their first dinner together back on the Sunny and of course, the inevitable gets brought up.

Fingertips trailed softly against Nami's cheekbone and brought her attention back to the present. “You think too much,” Vivi whispered softly before leaning forward, kissing Nami's bruised lips softly. She pulled back just slightly so that she could add in a playful murmur, “Maybe I'll tell them the truth.”
“The truth?” Nami whispered back just as softly, though her words her incredulous and followed by a snort.
“The truth,” Vivi repeated a little louder, finally leaning back a bit more so that they could see each other once more. “Maybe I'll tell them all about the pirate that stole my heart."
Or, Vivi knows deep down she can't leave her country behind but it doesn't stop her from wanting Nami to be her mate

Summary
The mattress shifted slightly and Ace immediately was fully awake, more than eager to abandon his unconscious dreams to the real life dream laying next to him.
For the first time in months Ace had spent the night in his and Marco’s bed. And also for the first time in months there had actually been enough room on a mattress for them to cuddle without Marco either half-hanging off the bed or half being smothered by Ace. Well, he was still smothered by Ace, but that was because he wanted to rather than out of a necessity for fear of falling off the bed.
Or, Ace may have missed out on his “private party” with Marco the night before but now they’ve got all day to fix that.

Summary
Ace was….thinking. About a lot of things. About things he’d never really thought about before. Well, more like about things he’d taken for granted before and thus hadn’t thought much about. It wasn’t like there was anything else for him to do and since he had decided he wanted to be better with this second chance at life, he figured some introspection was needed, was necessary. And while there were a lot of aspects of his life that he had thought about lately, there was one big one that he kept coming back too. Kept thinking about.
Or, Ace realizes a few things. Or thinks he realizes a few things. After all, it’s hard to trust your thoughts after dark.

Summary
Ace had never wanted to be a marine. He thought they were boring and corrupt and way too uptight. They valued order and submission over freedom and were relentless in their attempts at cleansing those they deemed 'undesirable' from the world. And since Ace was one of those they considered as such, he hated them even more.
And then life somehow got worse and he was told—with no chance to protest—that he was going to join the Marines once he came of age and he would spend his life there. No amount of protesting or arguing could sway his grandfather and while Ace could have probably just told him to go to hell and done what he wanted anyway, he couldn't because the man at the head of it all knew all about Ace's inherited crimes and had told them that should Ace refuse, he would tell the entire world who Ace was and exactly where they could find him.
Or, Ace is a marine and he hates it but he doesn't have a choice. Or does he?

Summary
Ace was bored out of his mind.
He had always been the type of person to be moving and doing things and the fact that he couldn't was driving him crazy. His crewmates had tried to help him out by bringing him things he could do during his imprisonment in bed, but they were all boring things.
It was to the point that Ace was begging Marco to bring him his division paperwork to work on. Not that Marco did, saying something about someone else doing it for him while he recuperated. Which was a nice sentiment but Ace wanted to do something and at least if it was his paperwork he would know it was being done correctly and wouldn't need fixed later on.
Or, Ace hates being forced to sit still while he recovers and is going out of his mind with boredom. At least Marco is there to help.

Summary
Marco was restless. It was the kind that made his bones itch and his skin feel like an ill-fitting suit. The kind that settled deep into his body until he felt like he was thrumming with it, like there was some kind of vibration accompanying his every movement.
With sleep far, far out of the question he had taken to pacing around the deck, trying to pass it off as a nighttime stroll to the few people he saw. Not that any of them seemed to believe him, not when one of his feet kept tapping the deck and his fingers fidgeted around everywhere they landed.
Most nights when he felt like this he would go for a flight, take off into the sky and spend however many hours up there until the feeling faded. Sometimes he would scout their route out while other times he would act as just another night watchman. Occasionally, when the itch was really bad, he would fly circles and loops through the night air, diving down towards the water or spiraling as high up as he could.
Tonight, however, the thought of going for a flight made him anxious. Well, it wasn't the act of flying that was making him anxious, but rather the idea of leaving the ship.
Or, Marco is restless and Ace can't sleep.
