Summary
Jake Peralta is placed in the foster care system at 12.
At 15, he is fostered by Sergeant Raymond Holt and Dr Kevin Cozner, PhD.
At 16, he is back in his mother's custody, and never hears from the two people who made him feel loved and safe for the first time in his life.
At 28, Jake is a successful detective who always did his best to not think about the only two people who truly cared about him, and how he had never heard a word from them in the 12 years since he had left their care. And that was working well for him. Well, it was until the new Captain for the 99 turned out to be Captain Raymond Holt.
This is a story of hurt, of care, of anger, of reconciliation and of home.
