Summary
For twenty-eight years, Dani Mercer believed she was alone.
Abandoned as an infant and raised in foster care, she spent her life hiding impossible abilities no one could explain. She could move objects with her mind, hear unspoken thoughts, and feel emotions that weren't her own. On Earth, there were no Jedi to tell her the power she'd feared all her life had a name.
When Moff Gideon tears open a rift between galaxies to claim that power, Dani is ripped from Earth and subjected to brutal Imperial experiments, clinging to one fading hope, that the pain will end before she does.
Her salvation comes from the last place she expects.
Returning to rescue the Child, the Mandalorian storms an Imperial facility expecting one prisoner. Instead, he finds two. Dani was never part of the mission, but leaving her behind would mean making the same mistake twice. As Dani struggles to understand the Force and the reluctant warrior who becomes her protector, she begins to realize she was never truly lost.
Perhaps the family she'd searched for all her life...was searching for her too.

Din Djarin got more than he bargained for when he started seeing a random prostitute in a random brothel on some random planet in the Outer Rim. His life keeps getting more complicated, and the years of solitude seem to be behind him. He didn't go looking for friends, but he had somehow developed a collection of them--Karga, Dune, the Child. So why does he still seek comfort in her touch?
Din POV chapters taking place in the same universe as "Good Girl." This takes place sometime after Chapter 8 of that story. You'll probably need to read that one to understand the plot. **Now with Reader POV returning--this has grown an accidental plot and we are rolling with it.
CW: The reader-insert character ("her" in Din POV chapters) is a prostitute. However, she has chosen this career voluntarily and the tone of this work is sex worker-positive. All sex depicted is consensual.

The Mandalorian's helmet then snapped around to her, and Elana flinched, still reeling from the strange display in front of her.
"You’re the caretaker?" he asked gruffly. Elana barely managed to nod, scared out of her wits.
The Mandalorian was quiet for a long time, his intimidating presence alone enough to make her hold her breath. Crouching in front of her, a long moment passed where she could almost feel his gaze scrutinising her. Then, he reached out and tugged her upwards with an unexpected gentleness from a bounty hunter.
She looked up at him, shaking in fear. The visor glared down menacingly. A low command came from beneath the helmet, causing shivers to run down her back.
"Pack your things."
