after you casually mention during lunch that you used to think gary smith was cute before you knew how terrible he was, jimmy laughs it off at first, acting like it does not bother him. but the comment starts eating at him almost immediately. because it is gary, not just some random boy, jimmy takes it harder than he wants to admit. he starts comparing himself to gary, pete, and even trent, convincing himself that maybe you could have wanted someone taller, smoother, nicer, or easier to love.
