Jacob wanted to kill him.
He had every intention of doing so as he had Pratt dragged to the van, unconscious and still bleeding from the conditioning's effects.
He drove down the mountain alone, hitting every bump and pothole he could, wishing he could see the deputy’s head bouncing lifelessly against the metal truck bed.
….But then the bombs dropped.
