Summary
This is a story about the Ancient and Most Noble House of Black, or at least what is left of it. In 1987, Cassiopeia Black receives a shocking letter about a metamorphic child, who may or may not be a Black. From there, House Black has a choice: come together and overcome their differences or fade into obscurity.
This is a slow-burn fic with a lot of politics and POVs from all Blacks (including the usually forgotten ones). This is the perfect fit for those who love the Blacks, extensive world-building, and captivating mystery.

The effects of the killing curse on those that came into contact with it and survived?

Tony is called to pick up a small boy when his closest living relatives become unable to support him.
The boy happens to have a lightning bolt shaped scar on his forehead. The child is non-verbal, and isn't potty trained. The cause is not well understood, as the usual indicators point towards a stroke. Brain activity is normal however, and so Tony must adapt to life with a little disabled boy.
