Tommy stood above the city scanning the wreckage of the most recent hero fight. Dream joined him at the edge of the roof “So what's the tally?” “12 casualties, 0 deaths” Tommy sighed, it had been a rough night, but at least it was a good report. “Good job, Sparrow.” dream patted his shoulder, “You should go rest up for the night.” But Tommy didn't respond as dream left.
He grit his teeth nausea curling in his throat feeling the dried blood coating his skin. It wasn't his own, it was never his own.

His feet shuffled along slowly. The gravel crunching underneath. He felt every rock and stone through his thin shoes. The backpack slung over his shoulder, padding against his body in rhythmic thumps mimicked his steps. A sliver of the moon was the only thing he had to light the path. Tracking the road's paint lines the best he could to avoid being swallowed by the thick shrubbery hiding a steep ditch just beyond the pavement. His hair stood on end from the pitch-black forest that surrounded him. His shoulders ached from the weight. Progress was a far cry from what he’d call his pace but there was no time to take a break. He needed to get as far away as he could.
