Hunched over the toilet adjacent to her and Peeta’s room, trying to be as quiet as possible as she vomits every bit of food in her body. Something isn’t right, she feels all out of whack, like her brain isn’t working right. She’s confused and anxious and just - just - wrong. It’s been like this for a while, almost a month she’s felt strange.

The first time Clarke sees the Head Girl she’s sitting on a throne, presiding over her dominion with a piercing stare and a crown of braids in her hair. Her warriors are spread at her feet, a multitude of them, all long-haired and wild and clad in identical brown regalia. There’s something of the sacred about her, like the crimson cloak draped across her shoulders and her divinity are one and the same.
Or at least it feels that way.

It was Mrs. Figg who suspected first.
She noticed many things, sitting on her side of her fence with her cats chasing butterflies and nuzzling her ankles, Mundungus and the other watchers dropping by for tea now and then.
Mrs. Figg noticed that Petunia was a nosy bit of work with insecurities hanging from her every harsh angle. She noticed when Dudley learned the word MINE-- the whole neighborhood noticed that one. She noticed that Vernon glared at owls.
She noticed that when Petunia gave Harry a truly horrendous haircut one year, it grew back in at a normal rate. Harry was uneven and weird-looking for ages, hiding under beanies when he could.
When Mrs. Figg had Harry over for carefully miserable afternoons of babysitting, she noticed nothing moved that shouldn't. He didn't accidentally make flowers out of fallen leaves, or levitate anything during tantrums, or turn toys funny colors.
Mrs. Figg called up her mother, interrupting the wizarding bridge game she was winning against the nursing home staff, and asked her how she had known, decades back, that her youngest daughter was a squib.

Karen looks at her for a long moment before she says, seriously, “I promise, Matt. What’s happening?”
Karen’s makes a noise that would have been really funny in a different circumstance when Matt pulls the pregnancy test from her bag.
“These things aren’t exactly accessible to people who can’t see,” Matt says, quietly.
