Sometimes Dean wishes that Angels were like how they’re described in the Bible. How people from time too old for him to care much about thought Angels were messengers and warriors of God, protectors of Humans. He knows that how they’re really described in the Bible is actually pretty terrifying, but at least they were told by God that they’re supposed to love Humans, right?
That’s a thousand times better than what Angels really turned out to be.

Summary
A Soulless Sam traps and attacks Castiel--Dean finds out.
This story is coda until it isn't, because I realized I wanted the boys to have a happy ending. It follows season six plot/timeline for several chapters and incorporates quotes from actual episodes. Rape, rape aftermath, and recovery are explored. Eventual smut and even some fluffiness.
Without a soul, Sam could see everything a little bit more clearly. Feelings no longer distracted him from goals. He was free to pursue anything without shame, guilt, or hesitation. He turned an analytical eye to all that lay before him, calmly calculating the movements and reactions of those around him to stay ahead of their thoughts and actions. He was always playing a role, acting through a scene, he had been for months and he was getting very good at it.

Summary
There’s no point in mincing words. Sam is dead, and without him Dean is a drunken shell of who he used to be. When he finally pulls himself out of a growing pile of whiskey bottles, Dean finds it hard to go back to his life. With one flippant comment from a friend, Dean thinks he might finally have a way to make peace with the loss; Sam was an organ donor, and Dean’s going to find the recipients, talk to them, and see how their lives are better because of his little brother. For the first six stops on his road trip, things go mostly according to plan, and then he meets the man who has Sam’s heart. Dean had hoped he might find peace on this trip… he never expected to find love.

17 year old Dean Winchester lives at home with his little brother Sam. Only the Winchester's (and the teachers at school) know about Dean's heart problem - that's the way Dean likes to keep it.
He doesn't want pity and he doesn't want to think about how his life is literally on a timer that's running out, the meds can't fix him after all.
Then the kid with the trenchcoat moves in across the road and becomes way more part of his life than he was ever meant to be. One act of kindness can repay the next and at the end of it all, will Dean find that keeping secrets hurts more than it helps?
I guess Cas will have to show him that there's more than what Dean ever expected to find.

When he sits and watches a movie with his best friend or when they are arguing about which method of coffee brewing is best, he pointedly doesn’t look at his friends lips, or the adorable way he tilts his head when he doesn’t understand.
Dean ignores his feelings.

Angels roam the earth with all of their powers, no wings, and a serious vendetta against Castiel, who they blame for their heavenly banishment. He decides he has to leave the bunker before he leads the angry angels directly to the Winchesters, but Dean stops him. They just found each other again and he's not willing to be separated. So Sam, Dean, and Castiel hash out a plan to go into hiding until they can figure out how to fix the problem. Going into hiding from angels requires throwing them off with things they wouldn't expect Castiel to do. And so, the hunter and the former angel find themselves fake-married and relocating with Sam to Maine. Soon they discover through Charlie that demons are taking advantage of the chaos caused by angels forced out of Heaven to breed with humans in an effort to create powerful half-breed children that will outnumber earthbound angels and destroy them. Not only do the Winchesters have to fight off angry angels, but they realize nobody can stop the demons except them. What does it mean for Dean and Castiel, Sam and Wilhelmina, and Charlie?
