Bulma thought one grumpy Saiyan was enough, until an alternate-universe King Vegeta and his very smug Saiyan queen (who also happens to be her) showed up.
Now, thanks to the meddling Zenos, the canon we all know is off the rails and Bulma and Vegeta’s relationship is evolving in ways neither of them expected.

A one-shot inspired by fan art, set during the Goku Black arc in an AU where Future Bulma survives the initial attack. After sending Trunks to the past again, she escapes and gets underground with the rest of the remnants of humanity. When the Saiyans return to the future, she comes face to face with Vegeta, a man who isn’t hers, but looks just like the one she never stopped loving.

So, this story was born out of a what-if scenario that I can't get out of my head, which is simply- what if Bulma was a Saiyan? A very, very alternate universe.
FYI- Vegeta is not broken in this like he is in the manga and shows. He's still Vegeta, but without the PTSD. If Frieza trauma Veggie or dark!Vegeta is your thing, this story may not be the one for you.
Fic classified as mature due to possible language and fight sequences.

Summary
Inspired by Patrick Marber’s play Closer, this story explores one of my interpretations of Vegeta and Bulma’s contrasting searches for and reactions to, both physical and emotional closeness. It follows their attempts to get closer to each other’s heart and soul, even when pride, fear, and old wounds stand in the way.
Sometimes you need to create something together, and later destroy, to realise who you really are.
This is their story.

Summary
Bulma took pity on the photographer and glanced sideways at the Prince. “Would it kill you to smile?” she said pointedly, her voice barely above a whisper so the other guests wouldn’t hear.
Vegeta didn’t respond, his expression remaining stony. He stood there with his arms crossed, projecting an aura of defiance and disinterest.
Bulma kept her smile plastered on her face, though her patience was wearing thin. “You know,” she muttered under her breath, “since it’s your fault we have to be here in the first place, you could at least cooperate.”
Vegeta’s eyes flicked to hers, a spark of irritation evident. His voice was low and cold. “I see your mate is absent from yet another event.”-----------
In an alternate universe where Goku never came to Earth, Bulma Briefs finds herself at the center of a precarious alliance between Earth and the Saiyan Empire. Prince Vegeta, determined to prevent the rise of another tyrant like Frieza, seeks to form strategic partnerships with advanced civilizations, including Earth. However, Bulma harbors deep distrust toward the Saiyans and their motives. Can they overcome their differences and learn to work together?
