‘Be mean to me.’Ilya nods, like he's actually considering what Shane's saying, as if he hasn't already been told the truth. He even spares a second to stop and ‘think' about it before saying, “Mm no, you want it.”
The answer is immediate and defensive. “No I don't.”
‘Put them on me.’“I like the Shane in your head. You should let him out more often.”
‘What? No, you can still… oh fuck.”
“Yes, moy lyubimiy, I still can.”

Shane gets pretty annoyed that Ilya has a bigger bum than him. So when he spanks said bigger bum, he doesn't expect Ilya to turn around and spank him back, hard.
_Rozanov nodded like he understood, like he understood perfectly. "So you want to play a game, huh?"

"I mean..."

Ilya’s heart starts to race as he hurriedly shoves his hand inside the rumpled material. Ignoring the exuberant players and their daemons around him, Ilya’s fingertips have barely grazed soft feathers before he’s carefully scooping the tiny body of a sparrow out of his jersey.
“Evie, malysh.” he whispers, horrified.
Shane’s daemon, a tiny sparrow with a mottled mix of brown feathers, lies limp in his hand. She looks so tiny, so fragile like this, that Ilya can’t help but cup his hands protectively around her little body. Running the pad of his thumb gently along her head and back, he tries to coax her awake; though she shivers and pulls her wings back close to her body, she doesn’t wake up.
