    Summary

It's 1870, Shane answers an advertisement to tutor 6 year old Nikolai Rozanov but the decaying mansion of Withernsea holds more than just servants and a worryingly handsome Russian landowner...

Think Jane Eyre and The Woman In White but with lots of slow burn Shane and Ilya falling in love.

(Yes, it's a Victorian gothic romance trope fic!)

    Summary

Shane Hollander is the sole Omega within the NHL. He’s been running from his own instincts since the moment he first presented and lives his life akin to that of a Beta; scentless, never nesting, and without a heat cycle. Any failure to conform to these ideals would result in being outcast from his peers and by the league altogether.

Ilya is the only Alpha in ice hockey that plays without the use of suppressants. He lives his life purely driven by instinct, running from the ghosts of those attempting to control him. Unbeknownst to Shane, he’s also the only person that can smell the Omega, and the scent is steadily driving the Alpha insane.

    Summary

Ilya Rozanov built his tech empire from nothing, but the CEO who always wins is suddenly losing the one fight that matters—custody of his six-year-old niece, Alexandra. A strict judge, hostile old-money grandparents, and a brutal legal brief all paint him as too busy to be the parent she needs.

Shane Hollander, the NHL’s first openly omega captain, has spent his entire career proving he belongs. At thirty-two, with contract negotiations looming and a franchise in quiet turmoil, he’s one bad headline away from having his legacy written for him.

They come from two different worlds—until a chance meeting on a Cape Cod beach leads to a marriage of convenience. Shane offers the stable two-parent home the court wants. Ilya will use his connections to the incoming Voyageurs ownership group, and his considerable influence to make sure Shane walks into contract negotiations as something other than a question mark.

Everyone gets what they need. Shane gets to keep his contract. Ilya gets to keep his niece. And absolutely no one will fall in love.

    Really.

    Summary

Ilya had ended their relationship, or whatever it had technically been, only weeks after Shane was seriously injured on the ice. He’d visited him in hospital, said he would maybe, maybe, come to his cottage that summer, and then never did.

They don’t speak again. Not properly... at least not in any way that counts. Time passes anyway. Seasons move on.

Now it’s August 2018, and suddenly they’re back in the same space again.

So what happens now? What's Ilya supposed to do with something that doesn’t feel finished?

Especially when Shane has… moved on.

    Because, boo! There’s Casper.

    Summary

“And because—” Ilya stopped. He was not a man who stopped easily, who lost words, whose tongue failed him. Shane did this to him: removed his fluency, made him reach for things that were not in their usual places.

“Because, Ilya?” Shane stepped closer, and Ilya could smell him—the scraping tang of metal and stretched leather and beneath that, something faintly sweet—and this, in combination with the use of his name, made him dizzy, weak.

“Because I would rather be known by you than survived by you," Ilya managed. “And if I am to be killed, I would rather it be by you than by another stranger.”

    Shane went very still.

“I’m still a stranger,” Shane said after a moment.

    “Less now,” Ilya answered.
