or: Humanity seemed to be racing towards some great unholy extinction. As the poets always said, all good things must come to an end. It’d come for Yeonjun and Beomgyu too, inevitably; but for now, they’d take the world falling apart as just one more excuse to keep getting drawn back into each other’s orbit. The fact that Yeonjun had a husband waiting for him at home didn’t do much to help them fight it.

Summary
Yeonjun thought that he was in love with Beomgyu, once. Back in college. So naive. Now he's almost thirty, and he knows that love comes with pain and sacrifice. That's why his wife has left and won't tell him when she's coming home, that's why his daughter who adores him accidentally destroys everything she touches.
Love is more raw and real and emotional than anything that Yeonjun ever felt with Beomgyu. He still misses him, though. Life was simple back then.
(Life becomes a smidge more complicated when the idea of divorce appears on the horizon, and when Yeonjun meets his daughter's brand-new preschool teacher, who has a very different outlook on what happened between them seven years ago.)
