When Oliver returns from the "dead", he was not expecting his reception. His mission is no longer his own. His team doesn't need him there, doesn't seem like they even want him there. And Felicity. While Tatsu was tending to him, all he dreamed of was returning to her. He'd told her he loved her so many times, but before he left, he finally felt ready.
Unfortunately, what he always feared came true. Felicity finally saw him. She finally saw that he was toxic. That everything he touched and everything he loved died. And well, he couldn't NOT love her. But dead men cannot love.
