Kugisaki Nobara was the kind of girl to pick calls even if she was angry because she didn’t want people to be concerned about her, not because she cared (maybe she did) but because she wanted to show them she didn’t needed their concerns, that she was capable of handling herself, looking after herself. So for her to not pick the phone call even after Megumi called 27 times and Yuji called 32 times was disturbing to say the least.

Summary
Toji auctioned his son to Naobito with a starting price of ¥7,000,000. Naobito raised Toji ¥10,000,000, dependent on his technique. Since Megumi was summarily orphaned in 2006 – by Satoru – he’s now free game. A child was bartered, and now a child will be displaced, without ever knowing of the 'money talk' had behind his back.
The tragedy of Megumi’s youth is not lost on Satoru. In fact, it’s painfully nostalgic, the notion of being stripped of your personhood before you can fully develop one. Megumi’s never been to school; likely can’t ride a bicycle; doesn’t, realistically, possess the bilateral coordination required to tie his own shoelaces. He still has his milk teeth, and yet – he already has a price. And the girl he’s with is, diametrically, completely worthless.
