Summary
Vignettes chronicling the romance between Astarion and my Tav, who I played as my character Evelyn. Evelyn and Astarion are very similar people, and Evelyn has a tragic backstory to rival Astarion's own. As I was playing, I realized that I wanted to flesh out their interactions and add bits and bobs that Evelyn would say. Using the in-game dialogue as a baseline, I've expanded their conversations to create my version of what "really" happened, but from Astarion's perspective.
This fic will also explore Astarion's unique (or not-so-unique) relationship with trauma, which will almost definitely get messy. I'll be consistently adding tags as they become relevant, but there will be some dark themes, up to and including graphic descriptions of sexual violence.

Summary
Tav finally reclaims her freedom and sets out on a journey around Faerûn after decades spent in the impenetrable dark. However, the adventure is not as lighthearted as anticipated, with HIS breath still on her neck, him wielding the power to bend her to his whims. And bend she will, for her personal agenda cannot be fulfilled without honouring his dominance.
Found by the BG3 cast in most unusual circumstances, Tav joins the group’s search for a way to cure the unwelcome tadpoles nestled in their brains. As they venture forth, she soon realises that the longer she travels alongside Astarion, the more her carefully crafted net of lies and secrets crumbles in the pale elf’s hands, both of their strict guard coming down as two sides of the same coin find comfort and support in each other.
The story closely follows the game’s events with minor divergencies to fit the plot and main OC’s lore.

Some part of him could picture it then, could imagine telling her everything - speaking til dawn on his whole history. Spending the next day in this same spot, diving into what he knew of hers. Asking how it felt to gore that bard. Instead, he mirrored her smile - his own wicked grin for seducing and scheming.
“I’ve wanted to taste you since I first felt that pretty neck under my blade.”
And as her head fell back in a laugh, the white expanse of her neck on full display at his easy, overused line, he watched the golden girl fall into the palm of his hand.

COMPLETED.Astarion had known the woman's face immediately - Halia Dhune, the golden daughter of Baldur's Gate. The princess of the upper city. How many times had Cazador sent him after her - wanting to claim the socialite as a trophy to add to his awful collection? At least now he wouldn't have to go back to his master empty handed, should the tadpole situation not work out in his favor.
(or: what if the Dark Urge was a noble woman, perfect and popular, and her father's favorite fox in the henhouse. and of course, what if our dear vampire knew of her before the crash?)
