When I first saw the trailer for Badlands, I promised myself I wasn't going to fangirl all over the Yautja dude. Months passed, then I saw the movie and.... Whoops, here we go again on AO3.

Ta'dana watches his sole eye flick over to where her human forge master hammers away at a piece of d'lex. She watches as his stance changes, something stubborn setting in his shoulders and the way his mandibles tighten, brow furrowed.
“You want her.”
It is a statement, not a question, but Vek'ra nods anyway, hands twitching at the sides.
“Sei-i, Elder. And I plan to prove myself to her,” he rumbles and then cuts his eye back to the imposing female, “to you as well, if I must.”
