Robby had just finished snapping on the gloves when he heard a soft, heavy thud. Not sharp enough to be a dropped instrument, but denser, bigger-
He turned, eyes widening in alarm.
Dennis was on the floor, slumped against the crash cart, a box of sterile gauze packets scattered around him like oversized confetti. His face was utterly, terrifyingly bloodless, not just pale, but white as a sheet, like a marble statue
Or, Robby and Jack realise Dennis is a vampire and deal with blood drinking, vampire etiquette, and cute bat forms.

But it only made it more confusing as to why Robby was texting him. Had Dennis forgotten something at the hospital? Was he in trouble?
He fumbled to unlock the phone.
The preview text glowed on the screen:

Dennis stared. The words didn’t compute. Thinking of you? From Robby? To him?
His eyes widened. A weird, hopeful thrill shot through him, immediately followed by a wave of anxiety.
Was this a mistake? A joke?
He tapped the message to open it fully.
The image loaded.
His breath stopped.
Or, Robby sends a suggestive picture to the wrong number. It escalates from there in the best way.

“I’m fine,” Dennis said, the lie automatic. His wolf pressed against his consciousness, grumpy about his lies and giving off a feeling of longing so acute it was a physical ache. The wolf wanted closeness, the safety of a pile of warm bodies, the scent of Pack. Every wolf wanted that, but for Omegas it was a longing unlike any other.
