Summary
Draco Malfoy is broke, the Manor being converted into a war museum, and he’s on probation, forced to work a menial job filing at the Ministry to meet the terms of a stayed sentence to Azkaban. After someone burns down his apartment with what little he has been left including his wand, Potter offers him sanctuary, but Grimmauld Place is so horrifying Draco feels obligated to try to repair at least enough of it to keep it from falling in on them both. This is a story about war trauma and wizarding home renovation.
EDIT: I have added a few bits here and there to help show the relationship develop a bit more; nothing that changes the plot, but if you are coming back to this you may notice some minor changes and a small increase in word count.

Summary
On Halloween 1981, Albus Dumbledore made a decision that would change the course of history, concealing Harry Potter’s survival at the hands of Lord Voldemort underneath a Fidelius Charm. But when Harry comes of age in the Muggle world, Dumbledore realises too late that the fate of the world may depend on a boy who has never held a wand.
An unlikely team assembles to teach him everything he needs to know before the charm runs out, but only one of them knows the truth behind the Dark Lord’s return to power. If it were anyone else, Draco would have no problem turning them over to the Death Eaters, but there’s something about this certain bespectacled idiot that has him questioning everything he’s ever known.
Will Draco seal the fate of the wizarding world by uncovering the Chosen One or will Harry save Draco from a fate of his own?

2003- Achieved Auror Qualification.
Note: Slight delay in training start date due to my own imprisonment, and dying father, general inconvenience.
2004 - Potions Specialist Certification, top marks.
Note: Cheers Severus, you taught me well
2005- Discovered loathing of field work.
Note: Bad guys thought I was on their side too often
2006 - Auror Office, cyphers and intelligence desk.
Note: Much better, useful contribution to society, repayment of past debts etc, no nightmare stake-outs or duelling friendly/related bad guys
2013 (The Unpleasant Present) - Sent undercover as a Professor at Hogwarts.
Note: minding my own business, life ruined by dreadful turn of events.
Note: Potter is DADA professor, a job he took out of the blue after I graduated from Auror training. His departure happened to coincide with a momentary lapse in judgement when we may have kissed, drunkenly … (and heatedly) against a wall. One time.
Awkward? Yes.
