Summary
After witnessing Snape's worst memory and confronting Sirius about it, Harry cannot simply go on as if nothing has changed. A bullied child for most of his life, and with his notorious "saving-people thing" gnawing at his conscience, he does the one thing that follows naturally from who he is: he goes to Snape to apologise — and perhaps to find the only person who can tell him that he is not, after all, his father's son.
The other central character of the story is Severus Snape. This is not a story in which he turns out to have been a responsible adult all along, hidden beneath a harsh exterior. He is, instead, a deeply flawed and often unjust one — and so the story is not only about Harry finding someone he can trust, but also about how Severus Snape slowly learns to become that person.
The story deliberately builds on the characters as they are in canon, and follows their development through a more psychological, character-driven approach.

Summary
God does not console us at the moment of death, Hannibal. He revels in it.
The distance between their fingers narrows.
Three centimeters.
Two.
One.
And then nothing. The bluff is eroding.
He had said once that he did not hide from God. This was not swagger. It was indictment. The stable door had not opened when small hands clawed at it. The prayer had been a child’s scream. If God delights in innocence, then God had eaten well that winter. Hannibal’s ethics—curated, exacting, merciless—were not a rebellion against morality but against divine hypocrisy. He would be kinder than God by being honest in his cruelty. He would be truer than God by loving without disguise.Series
