His uncle gripped his jaw, forcing his head up to meet Daemon’s eyes. Daemon lowered his voice now to ask, “How does that make you feel? That your own mother has whored you to me?”
Aemond wanted to remain silent. He wanted to spit in Daemon’s face or run, but he knew better than to do any of that. He knew his duty and yet, he wanted to preserve his own dignity, if it were possible. It was a fine line to walk. “I am not a whore, uncle. I am to be a gift. Your gift to end this madness and spare my mother and siblings.” Finally, Daemon’s laughter ceased.
A smile remained on Daemon’s face as he kept a firm grip on Aemond’s jaw. Nodding in agreement, Daemon’s eyes softened as if coming to a realization. “Yes. Yes you are.”
