Waving the papers in the air, Anakin asked, “Why would you hide this from me, Master?”
Obi-Wan gave her a disapproving look for interrupting his meditation but he reached for the papers anyway, unfurling them to read. He stiffened as he absorbed the words he was reading. Journal excerpts. They were in his own handwriting. He recognized them as old entries ripped from one of his journals. Journals, he might add, that he’d tucked away; hidden he'd thought from prying eyes but apparently not well hidden enough.

Summary
Anakin had never been sure what the difference between a dream and a vision was — not exactly, anyway. Though he was aware of the technical difference (how each was used in a sentence and their respective definitions, of course) it stood to reason that, objectively, one could be the other and vice versa. A dream simply a vision not yet come to pass, and conversely, a vision remaining pure fantasy if that fruition never betides the dreamer. The dreamer, in this instance, being a fresh-faced Anakin Skywalker, who theorized that the images embedded on the tissue of his brain weren't solely delusional but the precursor to waking memory.
He'd convinced himself it was predestined, as so much of his life already was, that he'd come permanently situated at his Master's side — in his Master's bed as a mainstay. Was he not made for it, bred for divine intention? He was the child of the very theology Obi-Wan pledged his life to tending, and if that inexplicable godhead could come to life and articulate and move like something corporeal would it not resemble a Skywalker? It already did.

“Did you enjoy that, Obi-Wan?” A teasing voice.
Silence stretched between them like a sleeping boa, dangerous and poised for a final blow. Obi-Wan felt his body temperature rising as Anakin stood in front of him, handsome as he had been nearly a decade ago. So close to Obi-Wan that he could smell his deodorant and his cologne that had matured in the heat of the room, coming off Anakin’s bare chest in a pleasant sillage that made Obi-Wan feel slightly dizzy.
The moonlight from the front yard crept through the slitted blinds in the living room, and it reflected off of Anakin’s olive skin tone. Obi-Wan’s thoughts raced at the question and he was no closer to an answer sixty seconds after it had been asked.
How could there be a response to a question like that when what they’d done was clearly so wrong?
