    Summary

The problem has always been architectural.

That is the thought that comes to Suguru with almost peaceful horror. The world made bodies wrong. It gave skin edges, bones borders, mouths that could only enter so far. It gave them hunger vast enough to imagine merger and flesh humiliating enough to fail at delivering it. Even now, pressed together on the floor beneath a temple, breathing each other’s breath, feeling each other’s hearts under their hands, there remains the obscene fact of separation. Satoru is beneath him and still unreachable in the final sense. Suguru is over him and still exiled from the exact place he wants to go.

Satoru seems to realize it at the same time.

    Summary

It's a tale as old as time - a classic trope: boy meets boy. Boy tells boy that he's straight (lie), but they should still kiss, like, for fun. And the other boy, also straight (truth), is like "sure, I guess, if you want". So they kiss a lot, and they do other stuff, and Boy 1 (really should have labeled those at the start) develops an insanely codependent relationship with Boy 2 and 'solves' a bunch of their issues by painting over them with a shiny coat of jujutsu. But it's fine, or it was going to be fine - until it really really wasn't fine and Boy A - wait - Boy 1 - had a panic attack and fled the country because of how un-fine he was.

But he's fine now. Like, for real this time. Mostly fine. Somewhat fine.

Oh, and there's a also 1000 year old sorcerer on the loose trying to reincarnate Ryomen Sukuna, King of Curses, and then probably take over the world or some shit. But that's not really a fanfiction trope, so Satoru doesn't bother to put it in the tags.

    Summary

    “Woah,” said a familiar voice.

There was no question who it belonged to, and Suguru went still. He should never have sent that text, should never have come back to this damned crêpe stand. Collecting himself quickly, he tugged Nanako behind him as he stood, turned, and smiled at Satoru Gojo. “Yo, Satoru,” he said brightly. “It's been a long time.”

Satoru’s blue eyes were wide behind his round glasses, the glow of Limitless making them look unearthly bright. He dressed casually, with a button up shirt and a jacket slung over his shoulder. “Do you have kids?” he blurted. There were bags under his eyes, visible when he tilted his head. Despite the situation, Suguru was sorry to see how tired he looked.

    ---

Five years after defecting from Jujutsu High, Suguru Geto runs into his old friend at a crêpe stand on Takeshita Street.

    Summary

He stares at the “Submit” button, and it stares back. His breathing is shallow, his eyes dry and scratchy. He licks his lips, closes his eyes, and clicks. The page refreshes, and with it comes a slosh of vertigo, like stepping off a ledge and waiting to hit ground.

There’s nothing to do now. Satoru closes the laptop and lets the darkness reclaim the room. He sits with his head in his hands until he can convince himself that he’s not going to throw up.

He drifts to bed, phone in hand, the muscle memory of checking notifications impossible to ignore even when there’s nothing to see. He sets the phone on his chest, thumb hovering over the screen as if Geto’s response might arrive instantaneously, as if he’s not just one more email in a sea of desperation.

///OR: Satoru starts therapy to untangle identity, performance, and desire. He finds a therapist who ticks all boxes, but at what cost?
