Summary
Cas had thought long and hard about his relationship with Michael and knew that it was time to call it quits. In this case, the only solution was to leave. He took a chance and applied for his dream job as a creative writing professor. Things were already looking up for him when he got a job in Lawrence at the University of Kansas. He put in his two weeks at his shitty 9-5, spoke to his landlord, and made arrangements to move out of the city. When the time had come, Cas packed his things and left. And just like that, he shut the door behind him and never looked back.

Balthazar would call Cas clingy every time he’d mention Balthazar being out late or when he’d ask “Where have you been? You didn’t pick up when I called. I was worried about you.”
Dean catches Balthazar with another man at a bar and he knows what he has to do.

Dean and Cas had been working on a case of a rogue angel medic. Exploding, vaporizing bodies. During the case, Cas had been asked on a date and he needed a ride to his date’s house. Reluctantly, Dean agreed to drive him. Dean felt his heart-tugging at him to say something to Cas for the entire ride. He wanted Cas to be happy…but he wanted Cas to be happy with him. He was afraid that Cas didn’t feel the same way about him as he felt about Cas.

Castiel has been avoiding Dean ever since he got back from the Empty. Cas confessed his love for Dean and, ever since Jack brought him back to heaven, he hasn’t heard a single prayer from Dean. Every other time he’s died, he could still hear Dean praying to him. Cas still watched over Dean, just from a distance. He would only show face if Dean really needed him. So far, Dean hasn’t needed him.
