Summary
They had a system for capture. Jack liked to call it the “I run my mouth and you get us out.” plan. Jack was very proud of the fact it rhymed, and Mac had long since given up on arguing that it didn’t.
It was, unfortunately, a good strategy. Jack excelled at speaking nonsense, ticking people off, and was able to take quite an impressive beating without letting up on either of the first two skills. Macgyver always had a clever plan burning in the back of his head, and overall their rule for capture was surprisingly effective for how crude it seemed on paper.
And Macgyver was going to be breaking it today. A fact Jack was currently blissfully unaware of.

Summary
The kid is thirsty. Even through the grainy camera feed, Jack can see it in the way he bites his lip, fingers gripping the armrests of the single chair in the interrogation room. He’s shivering too, stripped to his underwear. Henderson told them MacGyver was responsible for some pretty sensitive intel falling into the wrong hands, but no matter how he looks at it, Jack can’t quite…see it.
In a world where Jack Dalton doesn't quit the CIA in time to become Mac's Overwatch, Mac and Jack meet under the darkest of circumstances. Years later, Jack finally gets the chance to make up for his mistakes and, just maybe, the chance for a brighter future.

Summary
Mac flinches out of oblivion, and he thinks he might throw up. His entire body feels brutally jarred, shaken. He hit the ground and expected the agony of it to follow, but nothing comes.
Just a deep, unrelenting exhaustion.
He draws heavy, panting breaths into his flattened lungs.
The world shakes under him. It takes far too long for Mac to realize it’s not the world trembling, it’s him. Harsh shudders wrack his frame and all he has the strength to do is lay there and try to piece himself back together.
OR,
Mac has the worst acid trip of his life.
