After a week of visiting the hospital every night and realizing the state's foster system was overwhelmed, Darius made a decision that shocked the corporate world. He quit. He filed for emergency kinship/adoption papers, sold the penthouse, and bought a house with a yard in a quiet town called Gravesfield.
The transition to "Dad" was a disaster at first. Darius didn't know how to cook anything that wasn't a five-course meal, and Hunter was a ball of nervous energy who apologized for "taking up space."
