Summary
Sirius slows his gait, the irritation straining at his chest mellowing. Remus had a raspy, kind voice. He was glancing at Sirius, then at the buildings around them, the town houses with ivy growing up the bricks, and each little store bustling with customers, holding rich cups of coffee and buttery pastries. Sirius had met werewolves before, and they had never been delighted by the world around them.
Remus, raised from childhood in an isolated werewolf pack, does his best to unravel Sirius Black’s shell through a shameless fascination of everything from purple shoes to street vendors.

Remus blushes, like he always does when he’s faced with the horrifying concept of a compliment. The problem is, Sirius realises, when Remus continues cheerfully down the hill, that they all dote on him like that. Peter, who loves Remus for his kindness and willingness to sit down for hours to help him finish a difficult transfiguration essay. James, who tucks Remus under his arm and adores him. And himself.
Sirius Black, in love with the purest bloke to ever attend Hogwarts. Possibly an Angel sent from the Heavens, and he’s competing, unwillingly and unknowingly, with his two other best mates.

Tonia sighed and leaned back with a clang of armor on galvanized steel railing. “I’m ready to go home, take a bath, and relieve some stress, if you know what I mean.”
Eve did not know what Tonia meant. She frowned, trying not to be annoyed that she’d missed another joke. Tonia raised one eyebrow and made a filthy gesture, jerking her fist up and down over her crotch. Someone across the aisle whistled, and Tonia responded by exaggerating the pantomime, rolling her hips into it and licking her lips.
“Don’t make fun of me,” Eve said, reaching out and grabbing Tonia’s armor-less bicep so she’d stop being gross. “I know women don’t do that.”

He placed Remus back onto the ground, and bent down to wipe the mud off of his clothes with his hands. “Alright, you are to stay away from the edge. You can fish from a distance.”
“What’s a selkie?” And Lyall knew he’d never hear the end of it, from the little boy standing by his side, his knees soaked with mud and grimy water.
