Rozanov was the only one who thought the royal treatment was dumb. Not like it mattered – even if he wasn’t going to sharpen Shane’s skates, someone else would do it for him. Which is why when the team packed into a busy food court on a layover from Denver to Montreal after a win against the Admirals and Shane Hollander walked over to Ilya’s booth like a pup on a leash and stood there like the lost puppy that he was with a tray in his hand, Ilya looked up at Shane having a high school cafeteria-sized panic attack and their eyes met and it took all of two seconds before Ilya’s feet were betraying him, moving on their own like Shane was the fucking pope.

Summary
“You are planning to rob me or what?” He hears Rozanov call, and he can’t help but smile slightly even as he rolls his eyes, closing the door to the linen closet and feeling strangely lighter than when he opened it, reassured that he’s just trying to read into a blank page, that today doesn’t mean anything more than Rozanov doesn’t mind him being around, which is strangely flattering.
“I don’t know,” he calls back. “Don’t Russians like diamonds and fur and stuff? Where should I start looking if I want to know what my options are?”
He hears Rozanov laugh, and it makes him smile.
When he joins him in the living room once more, Rozanov tugs him down to lean against him again. Shane goes easier this time, settling into it, knowing it doesn’t mean anything other than the fact that he just happens to be the closest warm body, the person on Rozanov’s roster who filled today’s slot.

He trailed away as he looked up, and met the eyes of the very tall, very broad, very handsome man leaning against the doorframe.
They stared at each other, and Shane blinked, struck dumb.
Or, the night of JJ's bachelor party, Shane is forced into a lap dance he very much does not want. Until he does, and everything changes.
