It's been fifteen years since the original Blue Lock talent improvement program, the reunion coinciding with preparations for the 2034 World Cup in Tokyo. Kunigami Rensuke has an invite, but no intention of attending. That's when Isagi Yoichi decides to bring the reunion—and Chigiri Hyouma—to the door of his izakaya.
Chigiri and Kunigami fell out years prior, before their lives took drastically different turns away from the world of international football. Older, wiser and living with regrets, can they bridge the rift to become close once again?

Then, from the enemy’s lines, someone emerges. Both of them would recognize him in any condition. His tall frame, the way he uses his blunt force to open himself a way, his ginger hair, looking like a blaze under the sun. It’s Kunigami. He looks different than before, his face is contracted in a pained grimace and his eyes have completely lost the love and brightness they beared before. Kunigami looks broken, but there is no doubt it’s him.

Chigiri was suffering without Kunigami.
He came here independent and would still leave independent too, but Kunigami was someone he always leaned on here; his stability was enabling for Chigiri.
Kunigami was the one person who somehow didn’t annoy him. While nice, Reo talked almost exclusively about Nagi, likely because Nagi is one of the few people he has ever considered his actual friend.
He desired nothing more than to be a striker, but a part of him couldn’t imagine that for himself without Kunigami.
He could live on the defensive line if it meant pushing his ace beyond the limitations of their physical forms.
