The thing about String Theory is that some people say it suggests parallel dimensions and the like, sometimes producing near duplicates.
In this case, allow along through Casandra, Dustin's older sister, the trials and tribulations brought on by the upside down and how even with these changes they would have been led down the very same rabbit hole - at least that's what we thought - until we hit the point of divergence.

Summary
Hermione wasn’t a huge fan of quidditch – even in school – after much pleading at the hands of a certain red-haired witch she decides that one match wouldn’t hurt.
She couldn’t have been any more wrong.
Hermione left the stands that day with a one-way ticket to St Mungo’s newly remodeled regional medical center. Concussed and medicated she is sent home with strict instructions for rest. Hermione is prepared to do just that and sits at the end of her couch to watch the slow pulsing beat of the Christmas tree lights.
She is thrown for a loop when she wakes up no longer in her flat and surrounded by a mischief of people-sized rats dressed in uniform and a very familiar looking nutcracker.
