No matter how hard he tried to ignore it it was always a persistent and overbearing presence that wouldn’t ever dissipate. So he gave in to it. When he moved out, he turned into a hungry man. Desperate for experience, desperate for touch. He would fuck anyone willing to experiment with him, not caring if he would wake up the next morning with them still next to him or not. He wasn’t looking for a connection. He was looking for something to satiate this hunger brewing inside of him.
This primal kind of thing that needed to latch and bite and scratch onto any skin he could touch. But he didn’t want to watch the early morning sunlight kiss these people’s faces. So why is he now here, in this apartment, in a bed that’s not his, watching the sunlight peek through the curtains and onto Luka’s eyelashes.
They were drunk, Carter remembers that much due to the pounding headache he’s currently nursing, one too many beers and apple martinis he supposes.

McKay cuffs her on the shoulder. She steps into Samira’s light, her chain glinting around her throat.
“Trinity probably thinks she knows every queer girl—and girl-adjacent queer—in the Pittsburgh area,” she says, smiling. Her eyes are warm and bright. “Not all of us need to proclaim it.”

This has nothing to do with Mr. Le Bail or the High Council.” He hands Grace a packet of paper, waiting for her to scan over it before continuing. “Even in the absence of Mr. Le Bail’s favor, the Danforth family fortune is considerably immense, especially for a woman of your…” The Attorney trails off, eyeing Grace and Faith’s depressing poor people apartment. “Economic circumstances.”
“Wait,” Grace sputters, flipping through the paperwork. “I don’t get it. Why would I inherent the Danforth family fortune?”
“Well, you are the last remaining Danforth.” The attorney explains simply. As though it’s so simple.
