“Hm?” He paused, mouth full of pulled pork. Zelda wasn't looking at him.
“About what I'd say if I ever met my past self. I know I said I wasn't sure, but I – I thought about it a lot, you know, when I was in the past. I – I often had the thought that maybe, if I figured out a way to go forward in time again, I could... make a stop by our past. You know.”
He swallowed the pork. “Change it.”

After two apocalypses, Hyrule is settling into a new norm. Its people, brave and defiant, have survived it all. But of them, very, very few remember the way it used to be.
Link isn't one of them. He doesn't want to go back. He loves Hyrule as it is now, broken cloud barrier and all. Besides, they've already learned their lesson. Time travel does not change the past, regardless of the strange dreams of the neo-champions. He doesn't even know enough to decide if it was a world he liked.
Then, he recalls.
And he's always been one to fight losing battles.

Yiling Laozu gazes at him. His eyes are the winter to Wei Wuxian’s summer, but Wen Ning is used to being cold.
“Very well. Do whatever you want.”
The cultivation world sees Wei Wuxian's temperament as a side effect of the demonic energy he wields. Wen Ning is not so easily fooled.

Summary
There was no stopping the hands of fate, no matter how much Lan WangJi wished there was. In a world where the last thing your soulmate ever said to you was forever imprinted in your skin it felt like his was a cruel joke.
Though, even knowing that at the end there would be nothing but pain and what seemed like a rejection, he couldn’t help but give away his heart to someone he thought would hold and care for it. Giving away his feelings to someone he thought fate had not matched him with because surely his words were a mistake.
