Summary
Four years ago, a mysterious psychic explosion quite literally tore a hole in reality and opened a portal to another dimension. From this portal, terrifying monsters began to spill out, and everything quickly fell into chaos.
Reigen Arataka has spent the last four years surviving by flitting from one group to the next. However, when his most recent group of survivors once again falls apart, he finds himself on his own yet again. Soon, he runs into a new group that calls themselves Claw and later learns about a mysterious kid who has been surviving alone this whole time. When their paths cross, will these two be able to survive in this world of monsters, human and not?

“Do you want to go home?” He questions, leaning close and voice soft, and Will pauses, before nodding again. Mike lets out a breath, and lets his hand press against Will a little more firmly when he starts to sway in place again. “Okay, let’s go.”
Then he looks up and is met with smug faces, and Mike flushes when he realizes his own hypocrisy.
“I don’t talk like that,” Max recalls, voice high-pitched and overly girly and – Mike definitely doesn’t talk like that.
According to everyone in his life, Mike has a voice reserved just for Will. He tries to figure out what that says about him.

It was really just his luck that a hulking monster lumbered out of the woods and directly onto his driveway. Just his luck that he threw enough parties when his parents were gone that the neighbors had long tuned out any noise that came from his yard. Just a nice cherry on top of the fucking cake that, even if anyone did hear him screaming when claws tangled in his jacket and pulled, Steve honestly wasn’t sure they’d have cared enough to bother anyway.

Summary
METSON-013 is the 14th iteration of the Metal Sonic line, and he's determined to also be the last.
His core objective is to surpass Sonic the Hedgehog. Years of failure, doubt, and uncertainty have led him to draw one conclusion on the subject: if he ever wants to fulfill his objective, he needs to get away from the Doctor.
That conclusion leads him to a second conclusion: his best chance of remaining out of the Doctor's clutches is to disguise himself and live amongst organics until he gets the resources for a better plan than that.
Living a quiet, anonymous life shouldn't be difficult.
(He'll soon find out that it's the hardest thing he's ever done.)
