Peter’s heart rate picks up only slightly, immediately getting up to get dressed. “Yeah, yeah, of course— are you, okay? Where are you?”
“Yancy street.” Is all Harley says in reply.
“Are you okay?” Peter pushes, still in the middle of scrambling to get his suit on.
Harley is quiet for a moment longer, the sound of cars returning once again. “…would I be calling you if I was?”

Or, Peter gets a call late at night, and he gets one step closer to bringing his family together.

Summary
They’re…. They’re at Mighty Med, at work. They just did surgery. (They botched it— desecrated it, messed it up so badly there’s no way they won’t get fired on the spot—) They’re tired.
Their bones feel like lead pipes, heavy and weighing them down. The two of them, ever so in sync, lean against the pale wall in unison, breathing out shaky exhales.

Maybe it was the blood loss, his tired mind, general amount of pain, but he supposed at some point he started to see something. Hallucinated it, he thinks. Because his gaze shifts, he doesn’t know why he chooses to look up at the mirror again, but he does.
It’s not him anymore it’s… someone else. Another boy, he notes. But his face is different, his eyes are brown and he doesn’t have a busted lip or tear stained cheeks. He’s a brunette too, hair far shorter.
