Summary
Hornet is showing divine traits and capabilities; ones that are far too similar to those of her estranged grandmother. Herrah takes it upon herself to return to Pharloom in hopes that Grand Mother Silk will aid her, only for things to go horribly awry.
Skarrsinger Karmelita is sick and tired of the Citadel’s annoying denizens encroaching on her territory. An ambush to take out a group of soldiers quickly becomes much more complicated upon seeing their cargo.

Summary
Climbing out of the Abyss, Hornet and Lace are both exhausted and battered, physically and emotionally. The two of them struggle with their own internal conflicts. Hornet for the first time in a very long time is not alone. She doesn't know what to do when she is faced with feelings she hasn’t let herself feel in so long, courtesy of her new silken companion Lace. She is also reeling from seeing her sibling Ghost, while also processing everything she has been through since reaching Pharloom. Lace has gotten her wish and is finally free from her mother's grasp. Now she has a chance to be herself, but ages spent under her mother's control have left her grappling with her own nature. A nature that she feels her mother has cursed her with. She now has to deal with her past, while spending time with the Spider she loathed, but is finding herself enjoying the company of. The two bugs must grow from their past and forge a new future together in their practically infinite lifespan.
