    When he was nineteen he spent days training, his breath and his hands shaking because his life was on the line, the world was on his shoulders and he was nineteen.

    Joseph wasn't like Jonathan, didn't have that grace or that nobleness his grandmother spoke so fondly of. What he had was his brain, his breath and his made-up plans, and he made it work. That's just who he was.
