He’d learned that Aziraphale was just a little bit ticklish and he wiggled adorably when Crowley kissed his spine, that his angel was a cuddler, that his lips tasted like ozone and salt and everything Crowley had ever told himself he shouldn’t want.

Aziraphale has books and sheep to keep him company on his isolated mountain farm. He's resigned himself to being past his prime, without any prospects for a partner and family. Yet when Crowley blows in from a storm, asking for work and hiding the past they're running from, Aziraphale feels more alive than he has in years as he grows hooked on them. But the farmhand job is only a temporary placeholder until Crowley moves on. It wouldn't be wise to hope for more.

As I hurtled along the pavement, my eyes fixed to Google Maps, I barely had time to think about the fact that in approximately one minute, I was going to be face-to-face with my ex-boyfriend for the first time in almost six months. More importantly, it meant I could pretend – both to Oliver Blackwood and to myself – that any unattractively sweaty, out-of-breath shakiness was due to having run the five minutes between the tube stop and the pub where we were meeting. No, actually, that was more than a little embarrassing. Perhaps I’d tell Oliver it was ten minutes – although he was the kind of considerate wanker who’d have checked my route in advance to make sure the pub wasn’t too far out of my way, so he’d know I was lying, but would be too well-mannered to point it out.

“I still can’t decide if you’ve been very bad or very good this evening.”
I swallowed. “I… I’ve been bad I’d think.” Fuck, that was kind of embarrassing. But also kind of hot. And also it was all okay, because this was Oliver.
“Yes, but I’m not convinced you need to be punished,” he murmured, his thumb brushing along my throat.
“But,” I looked at him with innocent eyes, practically looking up at him due to how I was leaning and the fact that he hadn’t even taken off his shoes, “I was so messy.”
He squeezed gently at my neck. “And so reckless.”
I let out a breathy laugh, “Yes, I almost committed arson.”
“Hmm…” he choked me lightly and nipped at my jaw. I groaned and clung to his arm. “But should your punishment be penal or corporal?”
Fuck. He meant, ‘should I cuff you up, or should I spank you?’ My eyes darted to the wooden spoon again. His did too.
He smiled darkly at me, loosening his grip on my neck and caressing it with his thumb. “It appears you have a preference.”
