The absurdity of it all was enough to make him want to throw the entire stock into the fireplace.Admittedly, the author had the looks. And Louis hated him on first sight.
Until he didn't, that was.

"Are you the fucking godfather?" Daniel finally asked, as he gulped down another mouthful of beer and reached into his pants pocket for his cigarettes. "Or why do you lurk in the dark like that?"
Armand stared, and smiled, and blinked. One eye after the other.
Had he always blinked like a frog, or was that a new oddity he had picked up in these past years?
"Don't look at me like that. We watched the movie together. In the fucking drive-through I promised you. You sucked me off as the credits rolled."

It's been eight years since Daniel had last seen Armand. Eight years since Armand had walked out of the townhouse in San Francisco. Eight years since the Interview, since the truth.
And Daniel was doing great, really.He was living in New York now, Louis was still around (just like Lestat, whenever Louis could stomach him), he had a pretty girlfriend with not too many demands for him, and he had just released his first book.
So, yes. All was great. Except, apparently, hibernation was over for creatures like Armand and now Daniel had to deal with the unavoidable again: The devil himself, the love of his life.

"Will you kiss me before you drain me?”, he asked, sounding oh so desperate again, and placed a light little kiss on Armand's thumb. "Louis fucked me. I think it's only fair if you kiss me."
Armand huffed in amusement but let his thumb rest where it was. His eyes wandered restlessly over Daniel's face, as if he tried to study him, to find a reason why Daniel was broken like this.
“You’re a fascinating boy, Daniel Molloy", he then said and Daniel could only nod.

When Daniel followed the two pretty men out of the bar and back to their apartment, he hoped for drugs. Maybe a good story. Sex, of course, as it always was on the table with him.
What he got was high-quality drugs. A great story. Lots of sex. And an ancient vampire boyfriend with mutual possessive obsession for each other.
(A What if Armand would've went with Louis and Daniel back to Divisadero Street au that spiraled into long fic. Doesn't follow canon after the night at the bar at all, neither show nor book)
