Summary
Crowley and Muriel become friends after he agrees to help them to navigate their new life on Earth. Three years later, Aziraphale comes back from Heaven, but Crowley, still depressed and heartbroken, doesn't want anything to do with him.
Aziraphale, not giving up, decides to woo Crowley, sending him a different gift every day for a week.

Summary
It's not that they didn't have other things to do, rather it was Aziraphale bringing up the idea of doing good by inspiring students and Crowley deciding to tag along under the guise that he could do demonic work near the campus.
Now respected professors, albeit sometimes deemed odd, the two soon become the ones learning something as they realize they've been turning a blind eye to something glaringly obvious.

Crowley will not let Aziraphale drive 'their' car to Edinburgh and so they embark on a 'family' road trip. With Jim. And the plants.
Meanwhile a still-oblivious Crowley hasn't had his big 'oh' realisation of love yet, Aziraphale thinks they are on the same page and is keen for them to take the next step, and Shax has watched too many romantic movies and has come up with a sinister plan to drive a wedge between them.
