Summary
Daniel blinks.
“That a meat thermometer?”
“Shh, everything’s fine,” Armand replies, incredibly reassuringly.
And then he stabs the thermometer directly into his own thigh.
“Jesus fucking Christ!”
“It’s fine, Daniel,” he says, and has the gall to fucking roll his eyes too, like Daniel is having some wholly unwarranted fit of the vapours. Meanwhile, there’s blood already dribbling down to his knee.
Or: Daniel Molloy's life with a mad scientist for a husband.

Summary
The book drops. Armand doesn’t want to read it. But then it shows up on his doorstep, so he does.
From two time Pulitzer-awarded journalist Daniel Molloy’s Interview with the Vampire, excerpted:
I think I understand Louis, by this point, very well. The things I understand about Armand are far fewer. One: he is a liar. Two: he’s still a whore, though he doesn’t seem to know it. Three: he is very, very used to getting what he wants.
And four: if Louis hadn’t twice forbidden it, I think he would have happily killed me where I stood.

Summary
Daniel tells Louis, “I don’t remember. I mean, I remember things after you left, but – then it goes kind of blank. The last thing I remember is Armand telling me everything was okay and to go to sleep. Then I woke up and everything was fucked.”
Daniel wakes up in Dubai a vampire, and alone. He chases Armand across the world to find answers.

Summary
“Are you—“ Daniel closes his eyes at the onset of pain coming from his stomach. One breath, two breaths, three breaths. Okay, now he doesn’t feel like throwing up again. “Are you asking if you can remove my appendix?”
Armand tilts his head, his lips forming a barely-there pout. “You said Google told you that you likely had appendicitis. If I remove your appendix, then the issue will go away.”
