All Celeste Bellecourt wanted to do was runaway. And she did. She just somehow ended up saving the lives of once-fictional characters in 1984 Hawkins, instead of living it up in 2026 Chicago.
All Steve Harrington wanted to do was leave the dangers of the Upside Down in the past, and to bury his trauma so deep that it disappeared. He couldn’t, and so he’s stuck being some sort of babysitter for a group of middle schoolers.
All Eddie Munson wanted to do was to play Dungeons & Dragons, and maybe graduate high school while he was at it. He could’ve never anticipated that he’d get caught up in a real life campaign.
All Billy Hargrove wanted to do was to ditch Hawkins and his abusive father for the California sun. But, somehow, he’s caught up in some supernatural bullshit that he was allegedly supposed to die from.
None of them wanted this, but all of them are stuck together. Not because of Vecna’s hellscape leaking into their world, but because soulmates are real. And, now, Celeste is stuck with them for better or worse, in sickness and in health, until death do them part.

Summary

As the Upside Down starts to bleed into the sleepy town of Forks, Washington, other supernatural forces start to appear as well. Except, neither world knows about the other. But, maybe it's better if they don't.

As much as she wished she could control it, even at 18 she couldn’t stop the way the tears would build up whenever she was stressed, or scared, or just plain upset. She also couldn’t help the fact that once everyone found out what was going on behind closed doors at her birth father’s house, everyone took it upon theirselves to try to play “savior.”
So, yes, Isla Fawn Sommers was the resident town pity project and apparent crybaby.
Despite the fact that she tried her hardest to be normal, she never felt truly whole, never felt truly safe. Not until she met one Mikaelson—and certainly not until she met the rest of them.
Getting kidnapped may have sucked, but she wouldn’t change it for the world. Not when she had met one of her soulmates because of it, not when she had met all of them.
Now that they had her, they’d never let her go. She was their sun, their moon, their stars, their earth, their galaxy. She was their everything. She was their darling Fawn, always and forever.
It just sucked that Elena and her friends didn’t seem to understand that.

Summary
You loved your job.
You got to set your own hours, you spent plenty of time outside, and people didn't bother you while you were working. In fact, the pay was pretty damn good too. Of course, like any job, there were some downsides. After all, grave keeping and the supernatural tend to go hand in hand. It was quite common for you to run into a restless spirit or wandering ghost, in your line of work it was honestly expected.
Vampires though? That's new.

Kara is at the end of her nursing shift when a violent man is brought in with an arrow wound. When he spits blood on her, Kara is transported elsewhere. Soon she's doing emergency wound care on book characters and trying not to lose it. She can't watch people suffer even if it isn't real, but Aragorn is very suspicious of a woman who tells no clear story and smells like an orc.
“Stranger things have happened than you or I have years to tell of it," Gandalf said. "Why does she unsettle you? Surely you do not feel threatened. I am tolerably certain you could defeat her if it came to violence.”
Aragorn scoffed at his gentle humor. “I’m glad to amuse you. There are more dangers than warriors and swords. Need I tell a wizard that?"
“I can assure you she is not evil and has not a whisper of magic.”
“Yet a beautiful woman appears directly in our path, leagues from civilization, and immediately gains the hobbits’ trust. No wizardry, you say?”
Kara was not *unhappy* at being called a beautiful woman (although his standards for human women, as opposed to elves, were probably low), but she was unhappy to be stuck eavesdropping. She’d seen this scene too many times in movies. They would definitely see her.- Language:
