He was meant to symbolize courage. The Goddesses had willed it that way from the moment he was conceived. There is nothing courageous about him. He had known long ago that if he ever dared to look back he would be engulfed. He would fall and he would sink deep into it’s murky dark waters because the fears he had ignored all this time would finally wrap themselves around him.
He’s scared. He’s so so so incredibly scared.

He seeks to blend against the wall as all humble servants to the crown should—but just the same that doesn’t mean he doesn’t hear nor see, because he absolutely sees and he absolutely hears. He sees more than he should and hears equally more than a man of his humble station should.
